The All-Steel Motor Car Company Factory, northeast corner of Oak Street and the Wabash Railroad, looking northwest, circa 1915. The All-Steel Motor Car Company bought the Blees Carriage Company facility in 1915 to produce Macon automobiles but it was destroyed by fire on May 16, 1917.

Advertisement for the All-Steel Motor Company who was to produce the “Macon” Car, October 1915. The car was to be manufactured in the converted Blees Carriage Company building at the northeast corner of Oak Street and the Wabash Railroad, which subsequently burned to the ground on May 16, 1917. The company’s receiver was awarded $60,000 in May 1920 after it sued the Wabash Railroad for $250,000 claiming that flaming debris from a Wabash steam locomotive had ignited the fires that burned both the Macon Wabash Depot and then The All-Steel Motor Car Company factory.
